Journalist Sohana Tuli’s dead body recovered

Police have recovered the body of a former journalist Sohana Tuli (38) from a house in Hazaribagh area of the capital.
Her body was recovered from a flat on the second floor of a house in Rayer Bazar, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Wednesday (July 13) afternoon.
Her home town is in Battala Jessore town. She had been living in this house in Hazaribagh since December 2018.
Hazaribagh Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moktaruzzaman confirmed the information to the New Nation saying
that initially it seems a suicidal. However, the cause of death will be known after the autopsy.
Deceased body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Crime Scene has also collected clues from the scene, OC said. Sohana Tuli was a former student of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Dhaka University.
Earlier, she worked with various print media including daily Amader Somoy, daily Kaler Khontho and Bengali Tribune.
Most recently, she worked for the Bengali Tribune until 2020. After that she worked in a private company for a few days. Tuli recently opened an online shop and made her debut as a woman entrepreneur. Sohana Tuli was also a member of the Dhaka Union of Journalist. He was also a member of the Sub-Editor’s Council.
According to deceased friend Nandita Tabassum, she could not find Tuli over phone since Wednesday morning. Unable to get answer over phone, she came to Tuli’s house in Hazaribagh. she knocked on the door and without getting any response, she entered with the security guard and saw Tuli’s body hanging. She informed everyone including police. Later, police arrived and recovered the body in the afternoon. Soha Tuli’s younger brother Mohaiminul Islam said, “I came to Dhaka from Jessore on Tuesday and went to a friend’s house.” The last time I talked to my sister was Tuesday noon. At around three o’clock, my father called and told me about the incident.
