Kamrunnahar Shova, Senior Reporter of the English Daily Financial Express has been sued under Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act 57, in Gazipur.
Nagor Unnayan Sangbadik Forum condemned and expressed anger on the case.
Forum President Amitosh Pal and General Secretary Matin Abdullah said in a joint statement that a quarter has filed a false case against Kamrunnahar Shova in collaboration with the administration.
Besides, the journalist leaders also demanded exemplary punishment to those who were involved in this incident.
One Imtiaz Karim Shuvo filed the case against Shova and other two persons in Joydebpur thana on March 26.
Aminul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge of Joydebpur thana said, the case was filed after getting permission from the High Court.
“We have no information that Shova was a journalist,” he said.
