Journalist seeks life security

Md Rafiqul Anowar, the Editor and Publisher of Noakhali Pratidin, has been repeatedly threatened over mobile phone by an unidentified caller gang.
They generally warned him by cell phone calls and sending short message service (SMS) and recorded message.
The gang also had been threatening Rafiqul Anowar for days together.
The callers gave him threat on November 1 if he attends ‘Bangladesh-India Alliance Festival’ prestigious programme tomorrow (November 14) in Kolkata.
In this situation, the victim filed a general diary (GD) with the Paltan Model Police Station on Saturday seeking the security of his life.
According to the GD, Rafiqul Anowar has been working in his office for a long time at Masjid Gali, House No 85/1, Naya Paltan in the city.
The victim filed the GD for security of life in Bangladesh and Kalkata of India, the complained mentioned.
The Editor also claimed that some persons jealous of his professional achievements (mainly medals and certificates) at home and abroad might harm him, the GD further mentioned.
