Veteran journalist Md Khalilur Rahman passed away due to old- age complications on Monday. He breathed his last at his residence in the capital’s Mirpur at the age of 77, says a press release.
Rahman was a former Advisory Editor of The Independent and also a permanent member of the National Press Club. He was also the former Consultant Editor of Financial Express, Chief reporter of now defunct The Bangladesh Observer and member of the Dhaka Journalists’ Housing Cooperative Society Ltd.
He left behind his wife, one daughter, host of relatives and admirers. He was buried at Kalshi Graveyard in the capital following his namaz-e-janaza on Monday. National Press Club president Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and general secretary Farida Yasmin, in a joint statement, expressed deep shock at the demise of Khalilur Rahman and sympathy to the bereaved family members.
