Journalist Jamir Ahmed passes away

SK Jamir Ahmed Tun, the eldest journalist and also one of the founders of Jessore Press Club died at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital at around 11:15pm on Friday. He was 82.
Mizanur Rahman Tota, former president, Jessore Press Club told New Nation that the eldest journalist in Jessore had been suffering from old age complications over a month. He was undergoing treatment at CMH, Dhaka over a month.
Jamir started journalism in 1962 as Jessore correspondent at the Morning News and worked for Pakistan Times and Bangladesh Observer, Radio Bangladesh.
He was the Jessore correspondent of Bangladesh Betar till the moment of death. He was a former president of Jessore Press Club.
Citizens of Jessore expressed their grief at the sad demise of the elderly journalist.
