SM Habib,45, Staff Correspondent, news portal Daily Newsline and member of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), was wounded critically in an attack carried out allegedly by Juba League men at Keshabpur in Jashore on Wednesday.
Locals told that activists of Juba League, youth wing of the ruling Awami League attacked SM Habib with iron rod, hammer and sticks as he went to a mobile phone repairing shop at Amin Market in Keshabpur upazila headquarters over publishing news stories on drug addiction at Keshabpur. He came to Keshabpur to celebrate Eidul Fitr.
Syed Abdullah, officer in-charge, Keshabpur police station, however, told that he knew nothing about the attack on the journalist
