Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) and Satkania Press Club jointly arranged a basic training course on journalism at Satkania in Chittagong recently. Vice-chancellor of Chittagong University Prof Anwarul Azim Arif inaugurated the three-day long training course as chief guest. Addressing the inaugural function, nwarul Azim Arif said, “Journalism is a noble and creative profession. Journalists saved the democracy during the one-eleven tenure in Bangladesh. So I called upon the young journalists to discharge duty with honesty.” The function was presided over by the president of Satkania Press Club Sayed Mahafujun Nobi Khokan.
2-day Drama Festival begins : Marking 19th anniversary of Chittagong based dance group, “Fame School of Dance” is going to host a drama and music show styled, “Drama Festival” at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Thursday and Friday. The festival will be inaugurated by eminent actor and Minister for Cultural Affairs Asaduzzaman Noor on Thursday at 05:30pm. Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liakat Ali Lucky, renowned actor Ramendu Majumder, Ataur Rahman, Nasir Uddin Yusuf and French Embassy’s Deputy Cultural Director Jean Pierre Poisson will address the program.
