Mofossal editor of the vernacular daily Ittefaq Mir Aftab Ahmed, who is also a member of Dhaka Union of Journalist, passed away at his residence in the city’s Moghbazar area on Friday. He was 74. Aftab Ahmed breathed his last at his residence in the morning. He had long been suffering from chronic diseases. He started his journey as journalist in 1972 and worked as deputy news editor and shift-in-charge of the daily Ittefaq for few decades. Altaf Mahmud and Kuddus Afrad, president and general secretary of Dhaka Union of Journalists have expressed deep shock at the death of Mir Aftab Ahmed and expressed their sympathy to the bereaved family members. – Dhaka, Oct 30 (UNB)
