‘Jonakir Alo’ wins Best Director award in Romania

Jonakir Alo’, an Impress Telefilm film received its 2nd international award at the Brasov International Film Festival in Romania recently. The film is directed by Khalid Mahmud Mithu. ‘Jonakir Alo’, the second feature film of Khalid Mahmud Mithu.
Managing Director of Impress Tele Film Ltd Faridur Reza Sagar received the award on behalf of Khalid Mahmud Mithu at the ceremony.
Faridur Reza Sagar said, “Bangladesh has written its name in the prestigious Brasov International Film Festival for the first time with the participation of the film ‘Jonakir Alo’. Winning this award is the matter of pride for Impress Telefilm and the victory for Bangladeshi films.”
Executive Producer of the film Kona Reza and Hasan Ibne Khan and Director of the festival Daria Trifu were present in the award giving ceremony in Romania, among others.
Earlier, the film produced by Impress Telefilm was screened with Romanian subtitles at the festival on Saturday.
‘Jonakir Alo’ revolves around a woman who dreams of working for children’s welfare, and is torn between adopting a child and her responsibility as a daughter-in-law of a conservative family.
The cast of the film includes Gazi Rakayet, Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, Emon and Kalyan, among others.
A number of 9 films have been awarded among 11 films in the festival. The winning films are ‘Punctured hope’, ‘Endless love’, T’he great beauty’, ‘Anna karenina’, ‘Once upon aish’, ‘Les miserables’, ‘Fighter’, ‘About time’ and ‘Hope’.
