Ranajit Chandra Sarkar, Joint-Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, has been killed in a train crash incident at Mymensingh railway station on Monday. He was 52. The incident took place in the area around 11.15 am and died while undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital around 12.30 pm on the day. Ranajit Chandra Sarkar was also the director of the primary education directorate. Railway Thana Acting Officer-in-Charge (OC), Abdul Ahad, has confirmed this immediately after the incident. Hailed from Netrakona, Ranajit Chandra Sarkar, left behind his two daughters, one son, wife and well-wishers to mourn his death.
