Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Tuesday launched clean-up campaigns at East West University at Aftabnagar in the city.
“It is an initiative to make the city livable together. Such a step might encourage others to conduct similar drives in their own areas,” the Mayor said while inaugurating the programme.
The Mayor said, a combined effort is needed to get a clean city.
Atiqul Islam said, the youth as like students can motivate the people to make the city clean and safe.
The enlightened students will show the nation new way of progress.
The Mayor promised to build a foot overbridge on the main road in front of the university to avoid the busy road by the students and others.
East West University Vice-Chancellor MM Shahidul Hasan, among others, were present in the programme.
