The agitation of the teachers and students of Jagannath University (JnU) for recovery of their residential dormitories from land grabbers including Hazi Selim, (independent) MP entered the 10th day on Tuesday.
The day’s programme included holding of rally, procession and signature campaigns in support of their demands.
About over two hundred teachers and five thousands students joined the procession led by JnU teachers association under the banner of `Hall Uddar Andolon` carrying placards, festoons and chanting slogans. The procession
paraded different roads on the campus.
The demand raised from the rally included judiciary inquiry of the incident of repression on teachers and students and recovery of grabbed halls. Earlier, the agitating students blocked the Gulistan- Sadarghat busy routes by torching some tyres and logs for three hours from 11am leading to disruption of traffic on the busy city road.
