JnU student loses legs under wheels of train

A Jagannath University student lost her both legs under the wheels of a locomotive at the Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital on Sunday.
The critically injured has been identified as Mosammat Rubina, 22, daughter of late Rabiul Islam from Shantinagar under Debiganj upazila in Panchagarh.
She is an honours final year student of Social Welfare Department at Jagannath University.
Kamalapur GRP Officer-in-Charge Yasin Faroque Mozumder said that at about 1:10pm Rubina was trying to reach Platform No. 5 from Platform No. 4 by crossing rail tracks. At that time a locomotive was crossing the track adjacent to Platform No.5 and ran over Rubina, he said.
Her two legs were severed from her body and then she was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
Earlier on January 22, a Dhaka University student named Shafiqul Islam lost his two legs under train’s wheels when he was trying to get into a running train at Sirajganj Rail Way Station.
