JnU student killed in road accident

A student of Jagannath University was killed in a road accident on Tuesday after a covered van crushed him at Madanpur of Narayanganj beside the Dhaka-Chitttagong Highway.
The deceased was identified as Md Naim Khan, a 4th year student of Accounting and Information System Department.
Naim’s cousin Shipo Bhuiyan said that Naim was going to
Madanpur Station to reach the university by an auto-rickshaw. Suddenly a covered van hit the auto-rickshaw at around 7am, leaving him critically injured.
Naim was rushed to Madanpur Al-Barakah Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
His body has been taken to his village home for burial.
Officer-in-Charge of Kachpur Highway Police Station Md Taim Ali Sardar said, “We have just heard the incident and sent our personnel to the spot to collect information.”
None could identify the covered van as its driver managed to flee immediately, he said.
JnU Vice-Chancellor Mijanur Rahman said the university authorities had sent the concerned department chairperson and other teachers to Naim’s home hearing the news.
They also expressed a deep shock at the untimely death of the beloved student.
