The teacher Lubna Jebin is a lecturer of the
department of Public Administration at JnU. In her complaint, Lubna said that the student was walking before her and trying to obstruct her intentionally. As she asked the reason of such behaviour, he hurled abusive words, pulled her clothing and at one stage slapped her in public.
Lubna also said she herself had held the wrongdoer and took him to the Proctor’s Office.
Later, she filed a case with Kotwali police station against Aroj, an assistant-secretary of BCL of JnU unit, under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
JnU Registrar Eng. Md Ohiduzzman said that the university authority rusticated Aroj, temporarily from the university.
The university also formed a three-member body to probe the incident headed by Jagannath University Teachers’ Association President Ali Noor, he said.
JnU acting Proctor Dr Noor Muhammad said the proctorial-body had called in police and handed Aroj over to them receiving compliant from the teacher.
However, JnU unit BCL President FM Shariful Islam claimed that Aroj was nobody of Chhatra League.
