Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Tuesday dissolved its Jagannath University (JnU) unit committee following series of factional clashes on the campus.
Golam Rabbani, general secretary of BCL central committee said that they dissolved the committee as its tenure has expired.
“All activities of Chhatra League will be suspended at JnU campus until the fresh committee is formed,” he added.
Earlier on February 3, BCL suspended its JnU unit committee saying the leadership of the committee failed to keep peace on the campus.
Meanwhile, a Dhaka court on Tuesday directed police to interrogate two BCL activists at jail gate for a day within three working days in connection with a case filed over Monday’s clash.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yeachir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order after police produced them, both students of JnU, before the court with a three-day remand prayer for each.
The court denied both remand prayers and bail petition for them.
Police arrested the duo around 12:45pm with sharp weapons on the campus.
