The admission test for the first year honors courses under 2018-19 academic session of Jagannath University (JnU) will be held on September 29 and October 6,13. The decision was taken in 44th academic council meeting of the university. In this academic year students will be taken part in three different units in three different days. These are:
Unit 1-(Science unit) on September 29
Unit 2-(Arts unit) on October 6
Unit 3-(Business unit) on October 13
Duration for mentioned units are 1 and half hours,
However, in this session no written exams will be held for Fine Arts, Music, Theatre and Film and Television department, Students for these department will have to face practical and Viva-Voce, that will be taken from October 27.More information regarding the admission will be available on the university website at www.jnu.ac.bd.
Meanwhile, from this Academic session JnU has decided to drop multiple choice questions (MCQs) from admission test and all others examinations. JnU is the first public university to take such decision following the government’s ban on MCQs from Primary Education Completion to HSC tests amid severe criticism over a spate of question leaks. The decision is meant to improve the standards of examinations, according to JnU. Vice-Chancellor Prof Mizanur Rahman told Daily New Nation about written exams that “If there is MCQ, there are scope for forgery. This is avoidable in written tests.”
