Detectives in a drive arrested a suspected female member of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh from Koddar Mor in Sadar upazila on Sunday.
The arrestee was identified as Aklima, 25, daughter of Abdul Aziz of Baraitala Pashchimpara in Kazipur upazila. She is suspected to be member of JMB’s ‘suicide squad’. Waheduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Detective Branch (DB) of police, said tipped off, a team of the detectives conducted a drive in the area and arrested Aklima in the morning.
During primary interrogation, she confessed to her involvement in militant activities, the OC added.
DB police produced the arrestee before the court seeking a five-day remand for interrogation.
