A local Juba League leader was killed and a rickshaw van-puller injured when a bus hit the latter’s vehicle at Bagachra Bazar in Sharsha upazila of Jessore district on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam Babu,27, publicity secretary of the Bagachra ward unit of Juba League, the youth wing of the ruling party Awami League.
Witnesses said, the accident occurred at night when a bus of Afil Jute Mills rammed into the rickshaw van carrying Babu, coming from the opposite direction, in the area, leaving him dead on the spot and the van-puller injured. A case was filed in this connection.
