A local Jubo League leader of was injured allegedly in an attack by Juba Dal activists at Sadar union parishad in Sreepur upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The injured was identified as Rafiq Khandakar, 48, president of Sreepur union Jubo League.
Aoulad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station, said there has been longstanding enmity between Rafiq and local Juba Dal leaders over political issue.
A group of armed activists of Juba Dal, numbering 10-15, led by Babul and Shafiq reportedly swooped on Rafiq and chopped him with sharp weapons while he was returning home in the afternoon.
Critically injured, he was admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital.
