UNB, Cox’s Bazar :
A local Jubo League leader was chopped to death by unidentified miscreants in Manikpur Natun Bazar area of Chakaria upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Abu Bakar, 33, vice-president of Surajpur-Manikpur union unit of the ruling Awami League’s youth wing and son of Nazir Ahmed of Uttar Manikpur Natun Bazar village.
Police said a group of 7-8 miscreants swooped on Abu Bakar around 6:30pm on his way to the bazaar.
They stripped him off and took him to a roadside house where they hacked him indiscriminately.
He was taken to Chakaria Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
Officer-in-charge of Chakaria Police Station Pravash Chandra Dhar confirmed the incident.
