A local Jubo League leader along with his two associates was picked up allegedly by plainclothes police from the Central Kheyaghat area here on Monday.
The victims are Abu Sufian, a local leader of Jubo League and a support of Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Dr Selina Hayat Ivy, and his
two associates Sakhawat and Kamal. Witnesses said a group of 8-9 armed people, posing as members of Detective Branch of police, waylaid Sufian and his two associates in the area at about 1:30 pm and took them to a vehicle before leaving the place hurriedly.
Meanwhile, Mahbubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Narayanganj district DB police, said they did not conduct any such launch yesterday. Sanzida Rahman Shanta, wife of Sufian, said Sufian along with his two associates went out of the house to the NCC Bhaban.
