A group of miscreants at the instruction of Md Zahid Hossain, UP Member of Gazaria Union (Ward No 5 )of Matlab Upazila in Chandpur allegedly attacked Mazaharul Islam Tofij, General Secretary of Union Jubo League and his younger brother Babul Dewan centring theft of a motorcycle on July 5.
They were injured seriously and they were admitted to Chandpur Sadar Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
Now, they are fighting for life in the Ward No 2o1 (Bed No-212) in DMCH. A tense situation has been prevailing in the area over the issues.
It is alleged that Md Zahid Hossain was a BNP activists and he joined Awami league in 2018 .
A case (No 04,dated 06-07-2019) has been lodged with Matlab Uttaar thana in this connection.
