Unknown miscreants killed a farmer by chopping at Nizputia village of Jhenaidah Sadar upazial on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Mohidul Islam (30), of Abdus Salam of the village. Police recovered the body on Sunday noon from a filed in the village.
Jhenidah Sadar police station officer in-charge Harendra Nath Sarkar said, Mohidul Islam left the house in the afternoon of Saturday having a phone call. He did not return home in the night. Later his body was found in the field. The miscreants killed him by chopping. But the motive of the killing could not be detected immediately.
The officer in-charge said, police recovered the dead body and sent to Jhenaidah general hospital morgue for post mortem examination. A case was filed with the Sadar police station in this connection, OC said.
