Four district teams-Thakurgaon, Gaibandha, Narail and Satkhira-reached the zonal finals of the JFA U-14 National Women’s Football Championship eliminating their rivals in the semifinals at two different venues across the country on Thursday.
Hosts Gaibandha DSA crushed Panchagarh DSA by 8-0 goals, featuring two hattricks by Bristy and Rekha at Gaibandha Stadium.
Bristy scored four goals, Rekha three and Nasrin netted one for Gaibandha.
In the day’s another match at the same venue, Thakurgaon DSA outplayed Dinajpur DSA also by the same margin, featuring a hat-trick by Kalpana.
Kalpana scored four goals to make a hattrick, Shohagi and Hanna netted two goals each for the winners.
At Jessore Police Lines ground, Narail DSA earned a comfortable 6-1 goal victory over hosts Jessore DSA in the zonal semis.
Sabia struck two, Shilpi, Maloti and Trishna netted one each for the winners while Afroza netted the consolation goal for the home team.
In the day’s other match at the same venue, Satkhira DSA eliminating Khulna DSA by 4-3 goal in tie breaker as the match was locked in 1-1 goal in the stipulated period.
Both the zonal finals will be held today (Friday).
