Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) is going to arrange solo jewellery exhibition titled ‘Pleasantness: The Story of Madhuree’ by Madhuree Sanchita Smrity. The inaugural
ceremony of the exhibition is
scheduled to be held on today (July 1) at 5:30pm at its La Galerie in the capital’s Dhanmondi area, said
a press release.
This exhibition has been arranged with jewelleries that have been crafted out of seeds from different trees, soil, oysters, joist, conch, pearl and other natural resources together with gold, silver, steel, iron, copper and brass.
Madhuri Sanchita Smriti was born in Jhalkathi, growing up in the Nilkhet residential area of University of Dhaka (DU).
She completed her honours from the Faculty of Fine Arts of DU in 2006. She is now working as a fashion consultant with fashion house, Rang Bangladesh.
The exhibition will open for all till July 8. The gallery remains open from 3:00pm to 9:00pm from Monday to Saturday, while Sundays are closed.
