Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) country representative Kei Kawano praised Bangladesh for women empowerment and women leadership in the country, according to an official handout.
“Women empowerment in Japan will further progress through utilizing the experience of Bangladesh,” he said this on Monday while paying a courtesy call on Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at her office here.
The JETRO Bangladesh chief said, “Bangladesh deserves appreciation for women empowerment in economic arena along with the political sector.”
During the call on Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, also executive chairperson of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) discussed bilateral issues including socio-economic development and women empowerment.
Speaker highlighted cordiality of the Prime Minister of Japan and Speakers of
both the houses of Japan Parliament, the handout said.
Assistant Representative of JETRO Mari Tanaka, director Liton C Sarkar and
officials concerned were present during the meeting, it added.
