Jessore Sadar UZ in high NCD risk

Jessore Sadar Upazila is in high non-communicable diseases risk as it is situated such a place where emission carbon dioxide from factories and heavy dust due to abnormal vehicular movements on Jessore- Benapole and Khulna- Dhaka highways.
Non communicable diseases such as heart attack, diabetes, stroke, arsenicosis, and blood pressure are the world’s number one killer causing 36 million of the total 57 million deaths across the globe. Nearly 80 per cent of non -communicable diseases deaths occur in low and middle income countries like Bangladesh.
The information was revealed at a workshop on NCD prevention held at the conference room of Jessore Sadar Upazila council on Wednesday. Asia Arsenic Network arranged the workshop in association with help of NCD control programme, ministry of health, Bangladesh and funded by ministry of foreign affairs of Japan.
