Jessore police arrest suspected HuT man

DB police led by sub inspector Abul Khayer Mollah arrested Tanjib Ahmed alias Ashraful, 20, son of Abdul Aziz of Shahid Mashiur Rahman Road at Puratan Kashba area in Jessore town early Monday.
Jessore police, in a press release, claimed that the youth was picked up from his residence at dead night along with some magazines of Hizbut Tahrir, leaflets, a laptop and a mobile phone.
In the press release, the police claimed that arrested Tanjib is the regional commander of banned militant outfit group Hizbut Tahrir. He held an online conference with other members of the outfit group at 3:30pm on September 4. ‘The police also seized some documents in support of his involvement in the outfit group,’ the press release added.
Confirming the information, Shafin Mahmud, assistant superintendent of police, Jessore told that the arrested is a 1st year honours student of Botany at Jessore Government City College.
Police said father of the arrested is being funding the militant outfit from Egypt where he works.
Raihan Dharmatala and Masuma Akhter and Maksuda Khatun of Puratan Kashba, Jessore, and Sakir Ahmed of Kalyanpur in Dhaka city and Nazmul Hasan of Madargonj in Jamalpur district are also involved in the outfit group. They have relations with the family of arrested Tanjib Ahmed.
A case was lodged with Kotwali police station in this connection, said the police.
