Jessore mayor released on bail

Maruful Islam, mayor, Jessore municipality and also President, Jessore town unit Bangladesh Nationalist Party, was released on bail on Tuesday noon, said Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, General Secretary, Jessore District Unit BNP. Five leaders of the BNP including Jessore Municipal Mayor Maruful Islam were landed in Jessore Central Jail as the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Abu Ibrahim rejected their bail prayers on August 12, 2015. The five were wanted in several cases filed by the police several times during the BNP led opposition alliance’s blockade programs. The leaders surrendered to the court with bail petitions at around 11:30 am on August 12.
The leaders are Maruful Islam, mayor, Jessore Municipality and also president, Jessore town unit BNP, Golam Reza Dulu, senior vice- president, Jessore district unit BNP, Mizanur Rahman Khan, joint secretary of the party and also ex-president, Jessore Chamber of Commerce and Industries Limited, Delwar Hossain Khokon, organizing secretary.
