Jessore DC hands over bamboo sticks, flutes to people in Jessore

Deputy commissioner Dr Humayun Kabir handed over bamboo sticks and flutes to chairmen, members of the 11 union councils and local elites of Sharsha upazila on Tuesday.
 Sticks and flutes were given to people of Sharsha at a views exchange ceremony vowing to form village defense party to resist militants and to stop secret killings. The programme was held at bordering upazila Sharsha on Tuesday noon.
Anisur Rahman, superintendent of police, Jessore, Sirajul Haque Manju, vice-chairman, Sharsha upazila council, Liton Ali, assistant commissioner, land, executive magistrate Jahir Imam, Aleya Ferdaus, vice-chairman for the reserved seat of women, Moniruzzaman, officer in-charge, Sharsha police station and Apurba Hasan, officer in-charge, Benapole port police station were present among others during ceremony.
Deputy commissioner Dr Humayun Kabir asked the people present at the programme to resist militancy strictly.
