The ruling Awami League and the main opposition party of the country Bangladesh Nationalist Party backed panels shared posts of the office bearers in the annual election of Jessore district BAR association.
In the polls, held on Monday, the ruling party backed panel bagged 10 posts including the post of general secretary while the BNP backed panel got 7 posts including the post of president.
Result of the election was announced at dead night.
The elected office bearers are BNP backed candidate Mohammad Ishaq, president, AL backed Abdul Alim, general secretary, Syed Mokarram Hossain of AL and Syed Ruhul Kuddus Kachi of BNP, vice presidents, Badruzzaman Palash of AL and Abu Musa, joint secretaries, Palak Kumar Maitra of AL and Shahidul Islam of BNP, assistant secretaries and SM Nasir Alam of AL, library affairs secretary. The other elected office bearers are Mita Rahman, Nasima Akhter Rubi, Afroza Sultana Roni, Mesbahul Islam Parvez, Salahuddin Sharif, Manobendra Adhikary, Dezina Yeasmin, Shahida Khanam Lily and Naba Kumar Kundu, executive members.
