A young man was killed when a bomb was blasted in the village Attaki under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district on Monday at noon, according to a report received here. The deceased was identified as Suman Shaikh (23), son of one Sattar Shaikh of the village. Nijamul Haq Molla, Police Super of Bagerhat, Ziaul Haq, ASP circle and Bazlur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat PS visited the place of occurrence on the same day. Mother of the deceased was taken to police custody for interrogations.
Locals informed that on the day at noon while the ill-fated young man was making a bomb in the premises of his house it was suddenly blasted in a huge sound. On hearing the big sound the locals rushed to the spot and found him fatally injured. His left wrist was blown away. He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. It was not confirmed whether the deceased was making the bomb or he was stirring it after it was collected from the locality. Police were investigating in matter.
