JCD men vandalise 2 shops, loot Tk 12 lakh in Sylhet

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) vandalised two shops, looted tools from a pathological laboratory and Tk 12 lakhs in cash at Stadium Market in the city at around 11am on Thursday ..
The incident took place when JCD activists Monu and Sujan with around 25 men of Jillur group stormed into two shops named Fashion Optics and Medi-Health Pathology Lab at the market in the city. They looted laboratory tools with Tk 12 lakhs from both shops. Three workers of both shops were injured during the incident. Medi-Health Pathology Lab’s Manager Mishon Ahmed said that JCD activists Monu and Sujan of Jillur group came to the shop and demanded illegal subscription from the Lab’s owner Sabbir Ahmed Suton on Tuesday night.
Both were engaged altercation when Suton denied giving them subscription.
At one stage, Suton’s friends from nearby shops rushed to the spot and started to beat JCD men.
Mishon Ahmed also said that after being rejected from getting subscription, 24 or 25 men led by Sujan and Monu attacked the lab, vandalized lab’s cash box and looted a machine worth Tk 13 lakh including Tk 2 lakh in cash from this shop. Lab workers Mamun and Jewel were injured incident and admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital immediately.
During the attack at Medi-Health Pathology Lab, they also attacked the nearby shop Fashion Optics and also looted Tk.10 lakhs kept in the shop’s cash box. Fashion Optics’ worker Kholilur Rahman was injured then.
Sylhet Kotwali Thana Assistant Sub-Inspector Rashedul Islam told that ‘I have visited the spot and action will be taken if the victims file any case in connection.’
