Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), Dhaka University (DU) unit, complained that police walloped their activists on Thursday when they were passing by the DU campus from the Special Court of Bakhshi Bazar.
The JCD leaders said, at least 10 to 15 activists were injured in the police action. Of them, Nahiduzzaman Shipon, Joint Secretary of Salimullah Muslim Hall,
was admitted in a private hospital.
Earlier, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia appeared in the court at Bakhshi Bazar for Zia Charitable Trust corruption case. The JCD activists went to the court. Then the police charged baton on them when they were returning to the DU campus.
JCD, DU unit President, Al Mehedi Talukder said, suddenly police attacked them when they were infront of High Court Mazar. Several activists were injured consequently.
”Police prevented us from entering the campus of different universities. We condemn this heinous activity of police”, said Abul Bashar Siddique, General Secretary of JCD, DU unit.
