JCD man killed as BNP leader’s motorcade met road crash

An activist of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of BNP, was killed and about 12 others were injured when Dr. Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Standing Committee Member of BNP ‘s motorcade met a road crash on the Dhaka – Chattogram Highway in Cumilla on Tuesday.
The body was identified as Raihan, an activist of Daudkandi Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) unit.
The accident occurred when the BNP leaders and activists were going to attend a marriage ceremony of UP Chairman Mujibur Rahman’s son. They boarded a micro-bus from Daudkandi.
Suddenly, a Shyamoli Paribahan passenger bus hit three microbuses and two private cars of the motorcade at Amirabad U-turn area of the Dhaka-Chattagram Highway.
Raihan died on the spot while 12 others including Daudkandi unit JCD President Al-Amin were injured. Of the injured, 10 were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Daudkandi Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad told the Media that Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain was not injured in the accident.
