A local Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activist was chopped to death by miscreants near Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) in the city on Friday.
Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Sohel Ahmed said a group of miscreants hacked Don Hasan, 27, with sharp weapons indiscriminately
in front of the SOMCH around 8:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Meanwhile, police detained three people from the hospital area for interrogation, he said.
Hasan was a charge-sheeted accused in a case filed over a murder that took place in front of Abu Sina Hostel of the SOMCH several months back, added the OC.
