Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of BNP, on Saturday began sale of nomination papers on the occasion of the upcoming national council at the party’s Naya Paltan central office.
On the first day, nine nomination forms were sold for the post of President and General Secretary.
Chhatra Dal election conducting committee convener and BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon stated that the next President and the General Secretary of the Chhatra Dal central com
through direct ballots in the council session. Before that he announced the schedule for the election fixing August 17-18 for distribution of nomination forms, August 19-20 for submission of nomination forms, August 22-26 for scrutiny, August 27 for publication of the draft list of candidates, August 28 for submission of objections or appeals, August 29-30 for resolution of appeals, August 31 for withdrawal of candidatures and September 2 for publication of final list of candidates.
The candidates will be able to campaign between September 3 and September 12 and the voting will be held on September 14 from 10:00am to 2:00pm, said Khairul Kabir Khokon.
Former President of Chatra Dal, Dr. Asaduzzaman Ripon, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP Publicity Affairs Secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, JCD President Rajib Ahsan and other JCD leaders and activists were present during the sale of the nomination papers.
