The government has reappointed Md. Abdus Salam Azad as the Managing Director and CEO of Janata Bank Limited on Wednesday for the second time.
Md. Abdus Salam Azad joined as the Deputy Managing Director of Janata Bank Limited on 7th April, 2016. Prior to joining in Janata Bank Limited, he served as the Deputy Managing Director of Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB), said a press release.
Md. Abdus Salam Azad started his banking carrier in 1983 as Senior Officer of Janata Bank. Before adorning the position of Deputy Managing Director, he served as General Manager in Janata Bank Limited in various capacities.
He studied at Govt. Edward College, Pabna for his higher secondary education. He obtained B.A (Hons.) and M.A (English Language & Literature) degrees from the University of Rajshahi. He is also a Diploma Associate (DAIBB) from the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB).
He attended various workshops, seminars and received different training at home & abroad. He travelled a number of countries including USA, Italy, UAE, KSA, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
