Jatka Conservation Week will be observed across the country on April 4-10 with a view to creating mass awareness about preserving immature Hilsha or ‘Jatka’ which is significant to boost the production of the national fish.
Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, in a meeting held at the conference room of the ministry at secretariat here, made a decision to take elaborate week-long programme on the occasion, said a press release.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim presided over the meeting, the release added.
