A woman was allegedly gang raped in Sadar upazila of Jashore district on Friday evening.
The victim, aged about 28, however claimed that three men violated her after calling her at the filed of Bahadurpur village giving a job promise.
Touhidul Islam, additional superintendent of Jashore Police, said legal action would be taken after proper investigation in the allegation.
One of the accused is identified as Manik Kundu, a resident of Pattipur village in Phultala upazila of Khulna.
The victim alleged that Manik Kundu, who was acquainted with her, took Tk 20,000 from her with a promise of a job few days ago. She is an orphan and a resident in Abhoynagar upazila.
Quoting the victim, police said Manik took her to Sadar upazila on Friday evening by an easybike in the name of taking her to an employer. Manik also took two men in the easybike after reaching Jashore district town.
When they reach at Bahadurpur village Manik asked the woan to follow him.
Unsuspecting, she went. The two soon boarded a public transport for Hashimpur. But enroute, two of Manik’s accomplices joined them.
But, instead of taking her to her employer’s house, they dragged her to a field, violated her and left her in critical condition,” said police.
They also beat her up as she tried to resist the culprits.
Later, a passerby rescued and whisked the victim to Jashore General Hospital.
Hospital physician Azizul Hakim said the victim has been undergoing treatment and her medical tests were done.
