Shamsunnahar, 74, wife of Tofazzel Hossain, retired deputy controller, Jashore education board and also mother of Ahsan Kabir, newly elected general secretary of Jashore Press Club, died in cancer disease at her Puratan Kashba based residence at around 6:45pm on Saturday.
She is survived by three sons, a daughter and a host of relatives to mourn.
She was buried at Jashore Karbala Graveyard after janaja prayer on the ground of Puratan Kashba Mosque on Sunday noon.
Jahid Hasan Tukun, president, Jashore Press Club, Tauhidur Rahman, outgoing general secretary, Aninda Islam Amit, assistant organising secretary, central committee, Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Shahid Joy, president, Journalist Union of Jashore, Akramuzzaman, general secretary, Sajed Rahman, president, Jashore Journalists Union, Habibur Rahman Milon, general secretary and many other organisations expressed deep shock at the death of the journalist’s mother.
