The 101st birthday of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was celebrated in Jessore Cantonment under the overall management of 55 Infantry Division. Brigadier General Morshed Rashid, Artillery Brigade Commander of the 55th Infantry Division, inaugurated the colorful procession on Wednesday by flying balloons and festoons in front of the main entrance of the cantonment, Shadhinata Toran. All officers, JCOS, soldiers of different ranks and civilians took part in the procession.
The procession showcased the life style of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his role in the great liberation war, his political contribution to the formation of the country and various developmental figures. The procession went around the main road inside the cantonment and ended at Osmani Stadium. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Corner was inaugurated here.
In this corner, stills titled ‘Mujib and the story of a country’ ‘Bangabandhu’s family’ ‘Implementation of Bangabandhu’s dream – Bangladesh in indomitable progress ‘Bangabandhu with international leaders’ ‘Mujib with children’ were displayed. Besides, the main entrances of Jashore cantonment were decorated with banners and festoons on the occasion of the day. In addition to colorful lighting at various important installations, the roads inside the cantonment are decorated with colorful flags. In addition, seminars, documentary screenings, improved meals and special munajat were also arranged in all the units of the cantonment.
