Jashim`s American Dream to be celluloid

Farrukh Khosru :The American Dream is the first English movie under production based on the story of a novel written by a Bangladeshi writer Jashim Uddin now living in America.American Dream was first published in Dhaka at Ekushey Book Fair in 2015. On that occasion, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique unveiled the covers of three books written by the author, a student leader of his time. Later in the same year, Bangladesh former President HM Ershad launched the second edition of The American Dream at his Secretariat at Banani in the capital Dhaka. In February 16, a noted American publishing company Xlibris published the English version of this novel inaugurated at Language Resource Center of International Affairs Building at Colombia University of New York City. Associate Director of the Language Center Piare D-Preorgio launched the edition with a befitting manner in the presence of the author Jashim Uddin, Administrative Officer of the Language Center Amisha Briuous, journalist Hakikul Islam Khokon. Online company Amazon is the marketing agent of the novel. Besides, world famous library ‘Branch and Noble’ is also selling the book. The book is dedicated to US President Barack Hussein Obama. The mainstream American film company Bell Production is producing the film characterising Jashim’s novel in which some famous Hollywood stars are supposed to play the characters. Fifteen native-American actors will perform in the movie directed by the author Jashim Uddim himself. Famous Distribution House Sony Red Max is the distributor of the film. Jashim Uddim has other six novels in Bangla including Rupali Ilish (Silver Hilsa), Onath (Orphan) based on Liberation War of Bangladesh, Ratan (Jewel) — a Juvenile fiction and New York based novel Sabuj Nosta Nari — A Fallen Green (young) Girl.
