Prof. Dr. Fugo Takasu and Kazushi Fujimoto of Nara Women’s University of Japan called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Tuesday at the latter’s office of the university. Professor of the Department of Oceanography of DU Dr. Md. Kawser Ahmed was present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed various issues including the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs between the University of Dhaka and Nara Women’s University of Japan.
It may be mentioned that the University of Dhaka has already signed a MoU with the Nara Women’s University to foster international cooperation in education and research. Under this MoU, every year one DU student is given scholarship for higher study at Nara Women’s University.
DU Vice-Chancellor sought cooperation from Japanese Professor to increase the number of this scholarship. Japanese Professor assured the VC of providing all possible support and cooperation in this regard.
