Japanese Professor Dr Naonori Kusakabe called on Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman at the latter’s office of the university recently.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on Bengali Language as well as Japanese Language between the University of Dhaka and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan.
The Department of Bangla has already been introduced at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan in 2012, the Japanese Professor
informed.
He sought cooperation from DU authorities for strengthening ongoing honours
course on Bengali Language being conducted by this Japanese university.
DU VC assured the Japanese Professor of providing all possible support and
cooperation in this regard.
