With the help of the Ministry of Expatriates, Welfare and Overseas Employment, the Human Resource Management and Training Bureau arranged a four-month-long Japanese language training course here on Wednesday afternoon,.
At least 31 trainees from Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Bandarban and Chittagong are participating in the training.
Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates, Welfare and Overseas Employment Dr. Namita Haldar, as chief guest, inaugurated the training at Rangamati Technical Training Centre while Principal of the centre Sanauddin Sheikh was in the chair.
It was addressed, among others, by Director of Training and Management of the ministry Dr. Md Nurul Islam and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Sharmin Alam.
The Chief Guest said, “About 10 million people of Bangladesh are working in 165 countries of the world. But, most of them are not getting the required wages. The main reason behind this is that we cannot export skilled manpower from the country. Besides, they have linguistic weaknesses. Our employment export has long been dependent on the Middle East. We want to come out of this situation. In addition to developing skilled manpower by government initiatives, training programmes like this should be arranged.”
She further said, “Initiatives have been taken to send skilled manpower from Bangladesh to Japan, Korea and other countries, and the agreement has been signed with those countries. We have to be careful about human trafficking.”
It was informed in the meeting that after the training in Japanese language, the trainees who might show skill will be sent to Japan free of cost.
