The Japanese embassy in Dhaka has screened a Japanese documentary titled ”Tagore Songs”, directed by Mika Sasaki, that showcased lives of people who devoted themselves to Tagore’s ways of sensibilities and philosophy from a unique Japanese perspective.
“Tagore was a great admirer of Japanese art and literature; and his love for Japan has helped forge a great cultural relation between our two countries,” Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh ITO Naoki said in a remark before the screening of the film.
Japan embassy in collaboration with Japanese film company Nondelaico organised the day-long online film screening event on Friday, a press release said on Monday.
Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), was the first non-European to win Nobel prize in 1913 who visited Japan at least five times, it added.
