A leading Japanese dentist on Saturday disseminated a new technology for treating dental cavity keeping the natural strength of the teeth unaffected.
Professor Takashi Saito, a senior faculty of Japan’s leading Health Sciences of the University of Hokkaido, explained the new method demonstrating the technology which would require minimal cutting of teeth during the filling.
“The exiting filling method requires a tooth to be cut much in size . . . the new method will relieve the patient from the additional cutting,” Saito told a seminar joined by a number of dentists and dental surgeons City Dental College at Malibagh Chowdhurypara area.
He added: “Operative intervention should focus on the preservation of natural tooth structure and be limited to the removal of friable enamel and infected dentin.”
City Dental College’s director Professor Dr. A. S. M Badruddoza chaired the seminar where dental surgeon Professor Dr. Mostaque H. Sattar, Japanese trained dentists Dr. M. Riasat Hasan and Dr. Akashlynn Badruddoza Dithhi also spoke. A number of dentistry students took part in the seminar.
