A two-member delegation led by Dr Atsushi Sugiyama, Professor of the Department of Pharmacology of Toho University, Japan called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Monday at the latter’s office of the university. Other team member was Hiroko Sugiyama, President of Asaya Food Company, Japan.
Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of DU Prof Dr Md. Saiful Islam, Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Dr Md. Shah Amran and Associate Professor Dr Abu Asad Chowdhury were present on the occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs by the University of Dhaka and the Toho University, Japan. They agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon.
Later, Prof Dr Atsushi Sugiyama and Asaya Food Company President Hiroko Sugiyama delivered lecture on ‘Cardiovascular Pharmacology’ and ‘Functional Foods’ respectively organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of DU at its auditorium.
